Kelly Now, I will start off saying if you want a high intense bass amp then spend 1k for an amp. for the money this amp rocks! I have it hooked up to 2 10" Polk Audio Momo subs and it sounds great. I have heard some people same that cheaper sub amps go into protect mode often. This amp has never cut off. I ran this all of this summer in a truck with no A/C in the south every day and cannot believe how cool it is to the touch! I have set the main level knob on the amp at around 11 o'clock and it does quite well. One of my workmates (a car audio freak) has listened to my setup and said I should enter it into a contest. I'm a litte too old for this (grin-grin). One last thing, spend most of you $$$ on good speakers and less on the amp. Your system will sound better then the other way around. 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. VERY NICE AMP FOR THE MONEY!! By Aaron Mash I am very happy this Kenwood amp. I am running one kicker cvr and it pushes it hard. Like it says it can run 2 ohm great. 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Good for the money By Terry B. Landis I bought the amp for $100 and has been working well with my 12in alpine but turns off every once in a while if i turn it up to high. See all 20 customer reviews...

My first one was a much older model and after what seems like easily 6 or 7 years of faithful service I decided to upgrade. The usb port on the front is what makes it worth the upgrade. I can put thousands of songs onto a dirt cheap thumbdrive and not have to worry about MP3 cd's all over my car. The headunit also breathed new life into my 11 year old factory volvo speakers. I had no idea they could sound as good as they do. I've still got plans to put a recently acquired set of boston acoustic 6.5" speakers in the front doors but I'm re-thinking my decision to also upgrade the rear door and rear deck speakers. As far as the things about the unit that I don't like, they're very minor. For one, the 1~6 buttons control playback options and what not. The numbers of the buttons are very easy to read as they're lit up but the functions is in a gray colored text that makes it hard to read. Before actually reading it in the manual, I didn't know how to pause playback. The number 6 button does that but you wouldn't know by looking at the unit because the little play/pause label is nearly impossible to read. also, when adjusting the bass, mids and treble, like my older unit, these only go to 8. Why 8??? Why not 10? Kenwood, this makes no sense. Stop it. Also, I'm a little disappointed to see the attenuation button absent from the unit. I used that pretty frequently on my older one but I guess they have to save something for the units that cost more than $110. :D Anyways, minor complaints and that's about it. The unit sounds great, and aside from initially figuring out what the small buttons do, I really like it. The music is easier to hear on the interstate as well. That was an unexpected surprise. 15 of 16 people found the following review helpful. Fantastic !! By C. Nunez I bought a JVC El cameleon for my car. One of the reasons was the bluetooth option for my phone. After trying to turn up the volume several times and changing EVERYTHING except the volume (because of the digital display) I returned it and Bought this marvel. Again the reason was that I needed the bluetooth for my phone (which is huge btw.) You can purchase the bluetooth adapter separately. Well, when I got installed and just turned on it was awesome, just hearing the radio I realized the difference between Kenwood and the other brands. It was crisp clear with the right amount of bass and treble and it has that punch that makes you feel you bought the right one. Also it has a sturdy feel, it seems simple but has a lot of functions, you have to learn the manual, but once you learn to program it is fantastic. it has front inputs for whatever you want to connect from a USB memory stick to iPod and you can control from the head unit or the iPod. The bluetooth also works perfect with my BlackBerry Pearl with the OS updated I can stream music from it and sounds superb. You won't regret buying this one its a sure buy! 15 of 16 people found the following review helpful. Kenwood makes quality products - enough said By P. Repage iTouch, CDs, tuner, flash drive all work seemlessly with the unit, with plenty of power for the average user. If you are one of those "I want to feel the bass shake the car" type of people, you will need a separate amp. Control surfaces feel well-made and sturdy, not typical for radios I've shopped for this price range. The only drawback - not a do-it-yourself project. I ATTEMPTED to install this radio myself in our nanny's Honda Civic (I do not routinely do this because, being a doctor, I'm not schooled in car electronics.) Feeling confident after seeing reviews at ePinions.com stating how "simplistic" or "intuitive" it was to install for an "Average Joe," I took on the task. Well, if you're not a seasoned radio installer, don't attempt it - you may mar your dash getting

Dixon Well, considering I paid only 65 dollars delivered, it has an auxilary input for an mp3 player, and an extra sensitive radio tuner with like 14 presets on it, I would say it is a pretty good device. I installed it myself, and I have had zero problems with it. It sounds great, and it has like 6 different preset equalizer settings, plus a user setting if you don't like any of those. It has a really simple face plate (which is removable by the way) which is great because there is no chance of me hitting something and messing up all of my settings. It also came with a tiny little remote, which I never use and see no time in the future when I will use it, but the point is, it is there. Bottom Line: If you want something that is cheap, reliable, and just plays cds and the radio, look no further. 6 of 6 people found the following review helpful. Great price for a great radio By L. Nelson I got this product super fast in brand new condition for an amazing price. The only thing it can't do is play mp3 CDs, but it has a thing in it to hook up to an mp3 player so it doesn't really matter. It works perfectly and is totally awesome, thank you seller. 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Great CD Player By J. Plut I used this unit to replace an old Becker cassette player in my Mercedes. The unit fit perfectly. I initally had a problem with low volume and static in the speakers until I figured out that separate wires are needed from each of the four channels to the speakers. The instructions say that the left and right channels cannot share a common ground, but fail to say that the front and rear cannot share a common ground either. Once I separated the speaker wiring, the unit worked perfect. See all 21 customer reviews...

These guidelines mean your amplifier's output power ratings are REAL POWER numbers, not inflated marketing ratings. Class bd Rockford Fosgate bd topology is a revolutionary patented design, integrating a technology that is more efficient than typical class AB and has lower distortion than class D designs. POWER bd amplifiers are 75-80% efficient vs. 20-60% efficient class ab amplifiers. What does that mean? More power from your amplifier with less drain on your vehicles electrical and charging system. Differential Inputs Differential input circuitry measures the voltage of both the (+) and (-) input signal. The circuitry subtracts the voltage common to both conductors (noise) resulting in only the clean signal. This allows only clean signal to enter the amplifier. DSM DSM utilize 1% tight-tolerances improving efficiency of the circuit, decreases cross-talk from other discrete components and lowers operating temperature. Dynamic Thermal Management Heat is often inefficiently dissipated across a heatsink causing "hot spots". Rockford Fosgate engineers have developed an award winning cooling design called DTM. This patent pending design seamlessly manages the output of power supply temperatures, while evenly distributing the excess heat across the entire amplifier. MEHSA3 MEHSA3 (Maximum Efficiency Heat Sink Application--gen. 3) reduces MOSFET temperatures, lowers distortion, increases durability and prolongs the output device life span. NOMAD NOMAD (Non Multiplying Advanced Decision) is a "real time" analog computer that protects your amplifier from shorting speaker wires and dangerously low speaker impedances. Punch EQ2 In the early 70's, Jim Fosgate studied the acoustical properties of automobiles. Utilizing a real-time analyzer and pink noise, he would graph out the acoustical characteristics of each car he tested. Jim discovered three problems that were common to all cars: a midbass hump between 100-275Hz, a steep roll-off of high frequencies from 2kHz up to 20kHz, and reduced bass response below 50Hz. The Punch EQ on-board equalization circuit helps correct for these acoustical deficiencies in the listening environment. When set to Low-Pass(LP) operation, it becomes a variable Bass Boost. When set to High-Pass (HP) operation, it acts as a variable Mid-Bass and Treble Boost. When set to All Pass (AP) operation, both Bass and Treble frequencies are boosted. Rockford Fosgate Avatar These Avatars are a personal signature from the Rockford Fosgate team member who designed and engineered this fanatic product. This statement illustrates Rockford's commitment to being Designed and Engineered in the U.S.A. TO-247 MOSFETs Rockford Fosgate amps use custom TO-247 MOSFETs. These have 60% more metal tab area for more power capacity, lower impedance and improved heat dissipation over traditional TO-220 MOSFETs found in competitor amps. Rockford is one of the oldest and most respected brands in car audio history, and has been pumping out high quality, great-sounding gear since 1973. By pioneering ideas like the Punch EQ (boosting frequencies below 45Hz and above 20Khz for improved in-car music response) and using MOSFET circuitry to power in-car amplifiers, Rockford Fosgate paved the way for modern in-car electronics and hasn't slowed down since. The P1000-1BD features an ultra-small small footprint, and clean, simple design that looks great no matter where it's installed. Dynamic Thermal Management ensures even heat dissipation across the entire heatsink for maximum efficiency and cooling. Rockford Fosgate amplifiers combine raw, clean power, with sleek, smart designs that are easy to install and look great in any car. All Rockford amps are CES-2006 compliant, which means the power listed is the actual power delivered, and each amp includes a birth certificate to prove it. But don't let the small size fool you; this petite powerhouse, which can easily fit under any seat, packs quite a punch! The P1000-1BD features Rockford's patented Class-BD circuitry and is designed specifically to drive subwoofers with maximum clean power. Flexibility and efficiency are what the BD series amps are all about, handling subwoofer loads from 4-Ohms all the way down to a 1-Ohm. So whether you're powering a single 4-Ohm sub or a quartet or subwoofers, the P1000-1BD will rock the house. But what exactly sets a Rockford Fosgate amplifier apart from the competition? Plenty. Keeping Things Clean and Cool The amplifier's job is to produce power, and lots of it. But a side effect of creating power is heat, and that is an electronic component's worst enemy. Rockford tackles this problem by incorporating a cast aluminum heat sink, Dynamic Thermal Management, and MEHSA³ technology to every amplifier, resulting in a significant reduction of the amplifier's operating temperature. The cast aluminum heat sink surrounds three of the four sides of the amplifier's circuit board, which maximizes the cooling surface area, and since the heat sink is cast it offers 30% better cooling ability over extruded designs. When combined with Rockford's patented Dynamic Thermal Management (DTM), cooling efficiency is taken one step further. DTM distributes heat evenly across the heat sink where other heat sink designs can create dangerous hot spots in the amplifier. Rockford also developed MEHSA³ technology for the MOSFET (metal–oxide–semiconductor field-effect transistor) power transistors. MEHSA³ (Maximum Efficiency Heat Sink Application- Third Generation) maximizes heat transfer from the MOSFETs to the heat sink for up to five times better heat transfer. By keeping the internal components cool, the amplifier maximizes efficiency, produces more power, and reduces distortion for increased sound quality. Not only does the P1000-1BD produce lots of clean power, it also delivers exceptional sound quality. Differential input circuitry measures the positive and negative input signal as it enters the amp and subtracts the voltage common to both conductors (noise), resulting in a crisp, clean signal for maximum sound quality. The use of TRANS-ana circuitry, borrowed from pro-audio company, Hafler, also adds to the sound quality recipe. The TRANS-ana circuit simplifies the audio signal and allows it to travel through the amplifier as a low voltage signal before it reaches the amplification stage. This improves the sound quality of the signal, delivers cleaner performance, and improved reliability. The P1000-1BD's TO-247 MOSFET power transistors offer 60% more metal tab area that the industry standard TO-220 MOSFETs, which means more power, better cooling, and improved sound quality. Once the signal reaches the amplification stage, it's greeted by much beefier MOSFETs than what is traditionally used in most amplifiers. Rockford uses TO-247 MOSFETs compared to the somewhat standard and less efficient TO-220 MOSFETs. TO-247s offer 60% more metal tab area, which means more power capacity, better heat dissipation, and lower impedance capability. In other words, these things produce some serious power with very little effort. Sound Shaping and Equalization Adding subwoofers to your sound system is one of the best ways to improve your sound system. A subwoofer adds depth and realism to your sound system that door and dash speakers simply cannot replicate. But since a subwoofer cannot produce mid or high frequencies well, Rockford incorporated a variable 12db low-pass crossover into the P1000-1BD. With a twist of the dial, the high-pass crossover can be adjusted to eliminate any frequencies below a certain point between 35Hz and 250Hz. The Punch EQ can be adjusted to deliver up to an 18dB increase at 45Hz, improving overall sound quality, and overcoming audio response problems common to the automotive environment. Rockford Fosgate built a reputation around the Punch EQ, which is incorporated into their Punch amplifiers, and allows the amp to better shape the sound quality of your speaker or subwoofer system. When using the high-pass crossover, the Punch EQ can boost high frequencies above 12kHz anywhere from 0-12dB. This frequency range is often lost to road noise and other factors, and the Punch EQ allows you to dial up that range for perfect sound. If the low-pass filter is on, the Punch EQ can add a bit of boost (up to 18dB) to the 45Hz frequency range. This gives you the ability to dial in a little extra rib-rattling bass to your music that can be lost due to the compact size of most car interiors. Making the Connection All controls and connections are located on one edge of the amplifier, making it easy to access all controls and guaranteeing an easy, clutter-free installation. The P1000-1BD will accept up to 4-gauge power and ground wire, and all connections are neatly housed in c-clamp type connectors that terminate inside the amp's chassis. This adds a cleaner appearance to your install and ensures no "fly-away" wires can stray to other terminals causing possible shorts. All connections are recessed into the amplifier's chassis and located on the bottom edge of the P1000-1BD, for a clean, uncluttered install that looks great in any car. Speaker connections also use a similar clean audiophile design, and will accept up to 8-gauge wire for maximum signal transfer to your subs. The amp features a single RCA connection flush with the amp's chassis, further enhancing the overall clean appearance.RCA jacks are also recessed to the amplifiers chassis. The P1000-1BD has two pairs of RCA jacks, one is the input, the other is a pass-through jack. A pass-through allows easy connection of an additional amplifier without the need of a second set of RCAs run all the way to the front of the car from the second amplifier. This is particularly useful when using the factory radio as the source unit. An RJ-45 jack is located next to the crossover and Punch EQ controls, and for connecting an optional remote-mounted Punch EQ control. The remote PEQ controller can be installed up front and within easy reach to give you on-the-fly control of your Punch EQ settings. Pushing Power The P1000-1BD is a very flexible amplifier, and is stable down to a 1-ohm load. At 4-ohms, the P1000-1BD will pump out a nice respectable 250 watts. At 2-ohms, the power doubles to 500 watts, perfect for a single monster subwoofer or pair of moderate subwoofers. But drop this amp down to 1-Ohm and prepare to unleash the beast with an amazing 1000 watts RMS. The P1000-1BD is a great amp for upgrades if you need to add more power to your system, but it's also a great building block for designing a monster subwoofer system in steps. The BD's impedance flexibility makes it easy: start with a dual 2-Ohm subwoofer wired to 4-Ohms, and the P1000-1BD will pump out 250 watts. Later, you can add an additional sub of the same model and voice coil configuration, and the P1000-1BD will lay down 250 watts to each sub (500 watts total at 2-Ohms). Flexibility, power, and convenience are what the Rockford BD-series amps are all about. What’s in the Box P1000-1BD amplifier, Installation & operation manual, Warranty

Christou I've owned many Rockford amps and this is no exception to any of them. It's loud as heck you can hear me coming in my car from far away at just a little over half gain! I have 2 12" Infinity Kappa Perfect 4-ohm subs to this amp and the subs can't handle more than a little over half the gain of this amp. It still rocks and you get the Rockford clarity and punch you'd expect from any Rockford amp. I also have the same model amp but 300-1 which handled my Infinity's perfect. Im about to order 2 12" Rockford P3's within the next few days and THAN IT WILL BE ON!! Perfect subs for this brute amp! I'll be ordering the P3's from Amazon.com like I do everything else and than i will post my review about those subwoofers with this amp. I CANT WAIT! See all 1 customer reviews...

The Best out of the speakers I found for high range By person who exists Pros: high range - better than any i've heard. low range - just as good or better than speakers of the same size that I compared to they say they are oversized but they do fit in my honda civic with its small car door. Cons: The cost of installation is very high. It took a few hours for these to get installed (at Best Buy). Summary: I just got these for my Honda Civic. I compared them to every speaker at different stores that I could find. These were BY FAR the best when it comes to the high range. For those who can appreciate a full range of sound in their music, I would HIGHLY recommend these. If you want a good low frequency speaker, obviously these are 6.5", but they are the best I heard for that size. The Sony speakers I heard were about as good as these for low range sound. The installation is complicated and very expensive where I took them. I never intended to try it myself. The installation will probably cost around 30-40$ more for this type with separate tweeters unless your car is already fit for it. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Excellent for its price By J. Wong These are excellent for the price you pay. I installed them myself at the front door panel, piece of cake. The passive cross-over units are molded-in so you don't need to worry abt screws comming loose. For those of you who have had high-end component system, you know what I mean. These here are just "GOOD FOR ITS PRICE". That's all I am saying. I have had better ones but of course, I have an amp driving my previous more expensive component speakers. Also, because the speaker cables on the cross-over units are molded-in, it also means that you cannot use your high end speaker cables for these speakers. But of course, it may be an over-kill to get monster-cable for these speakers. Can't help but to stress that these are good for its price... 8) For now, I am driving these from my Head Unit (abt 20rms x 4) and the sound is REASONABLY good at AVERAGE volume. Alot also depends on whether your HU has a EQ. Mine has a 7 band EQ and I was able to tune the music to my pref, so that works for me. I have the TS-A6963R at the back panel to support these at the front. Good balance overall for a non-amp, non-fancy set up. Next, I should be installing a 4-channel for these (i.e., including the TS-A6963R at the back). Currently, my only complain is that the road noise does drown the sound a bit when I am driving at around 80mph. Turning up the vol causes some distortion... I guess that's the limitation when you drive these speakers without an AMP; you are not getting the best out of them... Of course, getting a sub-woofer (plus a second amp) to boost up the bass will be my third step. More then... Read my reviews for the TS-A6963R, I have installed them earlier... Cheers. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. WOW By BadPotato Pioneer will never cease to amaze me. These speakers sound fantastic in my wife's 93 Toyota Camry. Most helpful customer reviews 27 of 27 people found the following review helpful. amazing unit! By S. Maddern I have a 2002 Mazda Protege 5 sport wagon. I had replaced the crappy stock double DIN unit with a different but unfortunately also crappy JVC unit, mostly because I wanted a unit that had an aux port for my iPod. The attractive points of the 3100UB was not just the aux port but the built-in USB port located right on the front panel, facilitating an amazingly easy install and no need to buy additional adapters or route cables around the dash or glove box. The Pioneer site says you need to pick up their USB cable for iPod functionality, but you don't; my standard iPod sync cable works perfectly for both charging and playing with no problems. I suppose if you have an extra $25 to spend you can get the Pioneer cable, but it isn't necessary. You can use USB flash drives as well - but the iPod/iPhone system integration is seamless, easy, and very satisfying. I knew that in getting a single DIN I would be giving up interface real estate and the convenience of more buttons. However, the "joystick" control on this unit along with the bezel button functions are very easy to use, and do not take a lot of time to figure out. It gets intuitive after a few hours of use and you're set. Compliments too on the included remote, which does just about everything even easier and quicker than the front panel controls. READ THE MANUAL! It's an easy read and the instructions are simple. Once you've got it - you've got it. The other wonderful feature is the unit's ability to read every audio file format you can throw at it on a CD. MP3 and WMA are pretty much standard on everything, but harder to find are units that read Apple AAC files. This unit does it without hesitation (unless they are iTunes store DRM files, which you can either skip over, or use iTunes Plus on the iTunes store to convert your protected songs to DRM-free for about $.30 a pop). I can fit about 80-90 tunes on one CD and it makes having a large listening library easily available with just a few discs when I don't have my iPod with me. Pioneer's Sound Retriever processing for compressed files takes the quality of these discs up to near-standard CD fidelity - great stuff! The unit can be expanded in several ways: a Bluetooth module (about $85) which allows for audio streaming and cell phone functionality, HD radio and/or satellite radio, but I have no interest in any of these at this point. It's also got a pair of rear RCA ports for an amp and/or sub-woofer expansion. The unit itself has a 50 watt x 4 channel MOSFET amp and the sound is pristine and puts out a lot of power. The EQ settings are plentiful with both factory presets, user programmable slots with a 3-band eq as well as frequency based adjustments, bass boost and loudness settings, as well as sub-woofer and high/low pass filter options with a fully adjustable crossover. It's ridiculously multi-faceted and you can really fine tune it for your tastes and speakers. I have stock speakers and this unit really makes them shine. I'm going to replace them next month with four Pioneers and I can't wait to hear it. The detachable faceplate is, of course, a great security feature. The only con I can come up with for the unit is that the display could be brighter. The 4100UB model (same functions across the board but about $25 more) has a much brighter display, but honestly, it's a real "set it and forget it" unit, so it doesn't bother me much. This unit sells just about everywhere else for $140 and Amazon had it for $125. I'm so happy to have a high-end, iPod and AAC file compatible unit that can be expanded with a nice array of upgrades in the future if I want. It's flexible, powerful, subtle in appearance, and a joy for iPod/iPhone owners. Just plug it in and go! No need to buy anything else. I can't recommend this unit enough. Pioneer quality and broad functionality at this price point is just ridiculous! 7 of 7 people

These guidelines mean your amplifier's output power ratings are REAL POWER numbers, not inflated marketing ratings. TRANS·ana Trans·ana (TRANS conductance Active Nodal Amplifier) simplifies the signal path of the amplifier allowing the signal to travel through the amplifier at a lower voltage. All the power you need! 4.8 rating overall By alaskanseminole I upgraded my Punch P200 2-channel amp and I have zero regrets. In fact, I wish I had this amp all along! This is one STRONG Amplifier!! There is more power here than I need, that's for sure. I have the rear channels running in mono on 2 ohms and it pushes my Punch 10" sub to perfection. The front side is running in stereo on 4 ohms pushing four Fosgate 5X7s. The sound is super clean and LOUD! Only Con: While the amp is very stylish looking, it has no connector covers to conceal wiring like the P200-2. That would have made this amp a solid 5 star for me. Instead I'm giving it a 4.8. Bottom Line: After 20 years of Fosgate loyalty I'm thoroughly impressed with this Amp! 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. The sound its incredible. By Andres O Very nice. Beautiful piece of equipment. The sound its incredible, I installed it on the trunk of a 98 Pathfinder because it didn't fit under the front seat, too thick. The sound can get very loud without distortion but it won't kick your bass very loud on 400W. 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. t400-4 flawless By KP Pros: -Great Style and size -Blue Led matches my deck and my Gps Charger -Fits perfectly under my seat -Used perfect with 2 6.5 Polk MM fronts and 2 5.25 Polk MM rears -Enjoy not showing those phillip screws -Runs warm and never gets really hot or hot Cons: -Wished there was an out for RCA's Conclusion: Running the amp is a great add on for my polks. Connect, Tag, and Download Have you ever heard a great song on the radio, but couldn't remember what it was called or who sang it when you went to go look for it later? Now you don't have to worry about missing out on great music. iTunes Tagging gives you the power to "tag" all of your favorite songs without having to scramble for a piece of scrap paper in the car, then later preview or purchase music at iTunes Music Store. A better way to control your music Sick of using buttons to search through your songs? Now you can scroll through your music with greater ease using the 7-way rotary commander. Bring Your Music to Life with Advanced Sound Retriever This year you can hear the detail, warmth, and clarity the way the artist intended it, from all of the highly compressed MP3, WMA and AAC files playing on your CD player. By restoring data that tends to get lost in the digital compression process, we can make your music sound close to CD quality. Supertuner IIID AM/FM Tuner Pioneer's legendary Supertuner IIID combines the best of digital and analog tuner technologies to reduce distortion to bring you exceptional FM and AM performance. If you live in an area where reception is weak, you'll hear a big improvement in signal strength. And when you're near tall buildings, Supertuner IIID reduces the effect of multi-path noise, which occurs when the signal is reflecting off of the buildings. MOSFET 50W x4 Amplifier for the Power Hungry Compared to conventional power supplies, the MOSFET amplification circuit is smaller and more efficient, delivering power with less distortion and absolutely zero on/off switching noise. And that doesn't just mean a boost in volume: it means that your music will be cleaner at higher volumes because you're not pushing the limits of the amplification circuit. Clean, efficient power that will rock your vehicle. What a difference from my previous stereo. 2. USB works great. I've tested with an 8GB drive but it probably can handle much higher capacities. 3. Sleekness looks really good without becoming a gaudy light show. 4. Plays songs reliably from USB (other stereos randomly cut songs way short) 5. Surprise feature: Supports limited RDS. While not a feature called out, you can view text from a radio station for song title and station information. However, there are no advanced RDS features enabled (ex: can't scan for radio stations by genre). Cons (all minor): 1. Doesn't ship with a faceplate case (come on Pioneer, please spring for the 60 cents of plastic). 2. No microphone mute option during a Bluetooth phone call. 3. Microphone sound quality is good but not great. If you are extra finicky you can use a different mic. I'm sticking with the factory mic. 4. Display does not alternate through Artist, Album, Song Title, etc. You have to explicitely change these yourself. 5. The manual is written so-so. There are a few things that are not explains well (ex: what is "private mode") and sometimes it says you can "press the M.C." and that "pushing the M.C." also does the same thing. Overall, the manual is mostly ok. 6. When you are in Repeat:Track mode and want to jump to another track you want to repeat on, the unit changes to Repeat:Folder instead of staying in Repeat:Track mode. Seems odd to me. 7. Does not ship with a remote control (optional upgrade), but I've never used the remotes from my past stereos anyways. 12 of 13 people found the following review helpful. Good product some minor preference issues By Anthony Gadd Sound is awesome, Ipod control works great as well as the bluetooth. It synced to my iPhone perfectly. The only issue I really had with is that the main knob is too shallow so when you want to turn up or down the volume its like your pinching it and not grabbing it. Overall I am happy with it and would buy it again, the calls are clear and the sound is awesome! 8 of 9 people found the following review helpful. Very nice with a few flaws... By Turbo Really like my Pioneer stereo yet there are a few issues that I really don't like. * Red? Looks nice in the dark but for me difficult to see during the day. The phone icon that tells you that your phone is connected via bluetooth is really bad, unless it is dark. * Adjusting volume control is tricky... the center control knob is low profile so it does not feel effortless to adjust volume or settings. * Not sure if it has something to do with the iOS 4 update but now my phone is hit and miss if it will charge by the radio. No issues on the audio coming across the usb cable. Don't see where you can use bluetooth to stream audio, yet works fine with the phone. * Wish they would have provided an USB port in the back... would love to run the cable from the back of the unit for iPod controls and use the front for usb keys or something like that. * I like to listen to talk radio on the AM dial yet I have to switch through 3 banks of FM to get to AM. Why can't I disable the extra banks of FM that I'm not ever going to use? * Sounds great yet it has tons or setting which take a while to tweak... hate the graphic equalizer... nothing but numbers... I'm a visual person... like to see all of the bands at once for that visual picture. All you will get is the band frequency and +/- numbers. Overall I'm happy with the product but don't think I would choose this model due to my list above... Don't get me wrong, it still a good unit... just needs a few changes for me. It looks great and it is so simple and easy to use! I have no idea why people are saying the interface is bad and it takes a ton of clicks to get anywhere. Maybe they are taking the long way? It takes me no more than 5-10 seconds to make any adjustments. I also find the volume very easy to control. You don't accidentally enter any menus by adjusting the volume. You would definitely have to try to get into the menus. The flip down to access the CD drive is great - it keeps it clean and lasts longer. The colors are great and the removable faceplate keeps the radio from being stolen. The sound clarity is amazing as well. The USB port is great. I just plug in my iPod with the cable that came with it (same one you use to hook it up to your computer). It charges it and I can control the songs right from my radio! No sense in paying for the auxiliary cable PLUS cable to charge it because you can do it all through the USB that came with the iPod. I'm beyond happy with my choice! I would highly recommend this radio and would definitely buy it again. 14 of 14 people found the following review helpful. pretty nice By michaelbuddy I purchased this and installed it at a local big box electronics store. I felt it was in the right range for simplicity. Some radios like the Duals might have onboard bluetooth and HD radio included. This one doesn't. But the front plate USB port is simplicity and useful to me right now. i can load up flash drives and take music with me quickly. I havent' tested my creative player yet, but I hope that works too. The look of it is a little less elegant than some of the pioneers and alpines look. The knob feels ok, don't get me wrong, but when you turn it, it's not like it feels expensive. You know how some knobs are just bang on perfect and tight and feel expensive. I like how mine has both blue and green lighting. I'm using green, as I'm tired of blue right now. the buttons are straight forward, the LCD screen is not full pixel LCD, you can kind of see the limits of it, whereas some radios you can play full motion video because it's not locked in to certain lettering. the USB detection has been superfast. that's awesome. Sound is clear. Radio is good. I figured if I want to update it later, by then, HD add-ons will be cheaper in a couple years and i can always get bluetooth added on, or get it through a garmin navi or something. There aren't that many front USB head units. This one, the previous sony (610) and a kenwood were the few. the kenwood's usb has a plastic cap that looks really cheap. This one is nicer. The rest have rear USB piped in from the back into your ashtray or glove box. I dont' like that, I wanted it easy. And I think this newer model navigates songs much better. 25 of 28 people found the following review helpful. Great Radio By Pat OK, I don't listen to music. I listen to books on disk/tape. I bought this radio so I could copy the book onto a USB drive and listen to it on the road. Of course, it's VERY important that the order of the tracks stay the same on the USB drive as they were on the disk. Well, they don't. I kept copying it and trying it and copying it and trying it and the tracts always seemed to be in a random order. No, I didn't have it on Shuffle. I'm kind of a computer geek, so this just drove me crazy. I finally Googled the problem. No matter what order you copy the tracts (files) onto the USB drive, they ACTUALLY are in some internal order based on the FAT table. When you look at the tracts (files) on the USB drive while the USB drive is still hooked up to your PC, you can sort the order you SEE them, but you really are not sorting the order of the tracts (files) on the USB drive; just the way they are presented to you for viewing. I also discovered that "most cheap mp3 players" don't have

BAGBY I replaced the dying, lackluster factory radio in my 2005 Hyundai Elantra with this Kenwood. For the less than $100 price, I am duly impressed. The unit sounds as good as it looks. Even with the factory speakers, the improvement is amazing over the factory radio. It has plenty of power and with dual pre-amp outputs (rare on lower priced radios), it is ready for an amp and sub, not that I see myself adding one, but it's there. It plays your MP3 and WMA CD's with ease. Loading time is quick, and it also has a feature which will improve frequency response on low bit-rate MP3 files. The remote control is a nice touch, again- not too common on lower end radios. What I really like is the VFD display. You can read this BRIGHT and CLEAR text in any light, and unlike LCD's, VFD's don't "dark out" in extreme heat, nor "lag" in extreme cold. I love the retro look of VFD, but really appreciate the clear bold text which makes reading it easy. The front mounted 1/8 line in is a plus, and the blue backlight makes it easy to spot at night for plugging in my MD walkman. What really impressed me is the quality of the tuner. FM front end is one of the best I've ever used. I can hear stations the factory radio was deaf to, excellent selectivity. Even driving in downtown Atlanta amongst the dozen nearby 100Kw FM's, this Kenwood never gets overloaded. I was listening to a station from Macon over 70 miles away with ease, the factory radio couldn't handle this and would get overloaded from the nearby transmitters. The quality of the FM is superb, excellent frequency response and S/N ratio. AM is pretty hot as well. This is a good choice for FM DX'ing. The built-in MOSFET amplifier has plenty of power at 22w x 4, and will drive most speakers with ease though you should be careful if using factory speakers as this amount of power could easily overload them. Installation is easy as is with any 1/2 DIN radio. In my Hyundai I did have to use a simple kit so there wasn't any gap in the dash fascia. Most Toyota, Nissan, and Honda installs should take less than 30 minutes if you have the correct wiring harness adapter. Hats off to Kenwood, for the price I am more than satisfied. Bring back more VFD's! 6 of 7 people found the following review helpful. High quality at a low price By M. A. Stuart The Kenwood MP-242 is simply fantastic! Real clean, crystal clear sound and bass boost plus proper EQ will make any existing stereo speakers sound great. Easy to navigate controls, looks real nice with the blue backlighting. Perfect for an iPod and a really decent price for such high quality. You can dim the display for night driving and there's no annoying beeping like so many other modern car stereos. I love it! 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Great Value By D. Hughes I was looking for a basic CD player to replace an old Blaupunkt cassette player that had lasted an incredible 14 years. This unit has features I'll never use, but the high output amp was the best feature. As with most modern electronics, the controls are far from intuitive, but I figured it out eventually and it works great. See all 5 customer reviews...

Much better low bass than my old 12's. Hooked up to the same amp a 1000-watt mosfet and capacitor. For the price you can't go wrong. Very clean and solid construction of the box and hasn't moved since I installed, though plan on a strap or brackets to ensure no movement under hard braking. Lights are nice and don't distract. No problems so far and have cranked to where the Harmon Kardons crackle and the bass is still solid. Need to replace interior speakers now and install dynomatt! 14 of 15 people found the following review helpful. OMG What a Buy!!!! By Eric Stevenson I have had descent systems in the past. Was wanting to get another system. I wanted a low budget system. I seen these for $150.00 and was unsure of how they would perform. I took a chance and let me tell you I was overwhelmed. I didnt expect the bass the these subs produced when I connected them to my 800 watt cheap sony amp with a electronic crossover. You can not go wrong with these. You do need a crossover, it makes a big difference. the subs has a crossover built into them, but it isnt that good. I have had more expensive subs, these far out performs them. The Blue lights are a great bonus. Trust me if your not for sure and thinking about getting them, do it you will not be disappointed. 13 of 15 people found the following review helpful. Hard hitting 12's that look awesome! By M. Ravet These Dual 12's can really perform when hooked up to a good amp of at least 1200 watts and a capiciter. I had them in a 92 ford escort hatch back and those 12's would shake the whole car from bumper tip to bumper tip! The rear license plate would jump at least 2 inches with only 2 bolts on the top of the plate. If you are looking for some hard hitting low bass shake you like crazy subs these are for you! Another great car cd player Pioneer Fork weight for the past four years I have been using a Pioneer DEH-P6700MP car stereo, which is almost similar to Pioneer DEH-P670MP. I really like the Pioneer, as it seemed to really be able to spice up my 1998 Toyota Corolla factory speakers and had several features that are regularly used and loved. I decided it was time to upgrade my old Pioneer recently had trouble playing CDs, while the air conditioner was on, and there was a ticking sound to many of my CDs. I decided right off the bat I would go with Pioneer. I spent a few days research and most importantly to keep watch with many new CD players Pioneer 2010 was the decision to go with one that had HD radio, or go with one who had the Bluetooth functionality. It seems that you can get a Pioneer with both. I decided to go with the HD Radio feature in part because of talk about how FM transmission quality has been greatly improved (I am after a little rant 'on it at the end of my review.) It seems that all the pioneers had the opportunity read MP3 CDs, but that is great, but added one of the most beautiful is the USB port on the front. You can connect your iPod, Zune or USB drive and play music out of it, instead of burning a CD or MP3 CD. He also works for charging USB devices. I tried to connect my 8350th Black Berry into the USB port, but it would not recognize that the media and only charge the phone. Another voice on this Pioneer is the auxiliary audio input jack on the front of the face that you can connect an audio cable male to male stereo. An unexpected feature of this device is that it will be useful for many is the RDS support. The unit will display the song / artist to listen to radio stations that broadcast the information. Installation: I'm going, from pioneer to the other would be a breeze, and the stereo wiring harness is the same as my old pioneer Just to be sure, I contacted Crutchfield that many manufacturers use the same stereo belt for several years. Unfortunately, I want that in my review of my DEH-P6700MP and DEH-P5200HD in the new not confirm the same. They look the same, but they are wired like a mirror image of each other and the other not. * A note for beginners, if you still have a factory stereo in your vehicle, do yourself a favor and buy an adapter to use, so that you have not cut the factory wiring in the table on board. In this way, if you ever sell your vehicle or you decide not to like the stereo, you can simply pull the strap and the factory stereo back in. I was using the Pioneer DEH-P5200HD for a few weeks now and I like the device a lot. Many of the various equalizer settings are the same as what was available in my old unit, CD and MP3 playback is almost the same, and having the USB slot on the front is extremely convenient and I use it frequently to connect an 8GB USB flash drive full of songs. When you remove the unit and turn it back on, the device remembers where you were the last song and pick right back up. One important thing that takes some getting used to is the control knob on the radio. It seems to control everything in a button and it takes time getting used to. The remote control will help make things easier as you on all the buttons are easily laid down on it. It is also worth noting the remote control is identical to my previous Pioneer remote and both were the same cross-compatible. Pros:-The same great EQ options Pioneer is known. Includes options for low frequency filtering. USB & AUX Input Front USB input plays immediately when you plug in a USB drive, it remembers and what file and where does it when the device was plugged was last in it-iPod control from the face or remote RDS support for displaying titles of songs from radio No lights and animated figure distractions.
